Sonja Heiss

Sonja Heiss, born in 1976, graduated from the University of Television and Film in Munich. “Hotel Very Welcome”, her first cinema film, was premiered at the Berlinale in 2007, won many prizes, and was screened at festivals all over the world. Her second cinema film, “Hedi Schneider steckt fest”, was nominated for the German Film Prize in the script category, and took the prize for the best main character. Sonja Heiss held a residency at the Villa Aurora. 2011 saw publication of her much-acclaimed volume of short stories “Das Glück geht aus” by Berlin Verlag. “Rimini” is her first novel.
