Olga Gryaznova, born in Baku, Azerbaijan in 1984. She spent lengthy periods of time in Poland, Russia, Israel, and Turkey. Her widely acclaimed first novel “Der Russe ist einer, der Birken liebt” took the Klaus Michael Kühne Prize and the Anna Seghers Prize. Her latest novel, “Die juristische Unschärfe einer Ehe”, was published in 2014. Both works have been adapted for the stage.
