Barbara Sichtermann, born in 1943, is a journalist and writer. She studied economics in Berlin, and has been a free-lance author since 1978. She has written thirty books and received a number of awards, including the Jean Améry Prize for Essay-Writing. Her themes: living with children, gender politics and the women’s movement, the media, the 1968 uprising. She made her reputation as the TV critic for Die Zeit. Her latest book, the story of the squatters’ movement written with Kai Sichtermann, is: “Das ist unser Haus”.
